How much shed do you actually need?
Sizes read differently on paper than they do in a backyard. Use these layouts to picture what fits — a mower and a workbench, or a car and a workshop — before you settle on a footprint.

8'×12' — Garden
A mower, a wheelbarrow, hand tools on the wall, and room to walk between them. The smallest shed most people are happy with long-term.

What kind of base do I need?
A level, well-drained pad — crushed stone is the usual answer, and it wants to extend a foot past the building on every side. We will walk the site with you and tell you exactly what to prepare.
How much clearance around the building?
Leave at least three feet on every side for maintenance, and enough width on the delivery route for the building plus a foot on each side.
Do I need a permit?
Often, yes — most municipalities require a zoning or building permit above a certain footprint, and setbacks vary street by street. Check with your township before you order; we will supply the drawings and specifications they ask for.
