The parts you cannot see once the building is up are the parts that decide how long it lasts. Here is what goes into every structure we build.
Standard Construction
1 Skids
Pressure-treated 4×4 runners, sized to the building and set on your prepared pad.
2 Floor
Pressure-treated joists 16 inches on center under ¾-inch tongue-and-groove decking.
3 Walls
Studs 16 inches on center, sheathed and sided in your choice of material.
4 Roof
Trusses or rafters 24 inches on center, sheathed, felted and shingled — or finished in standing-seam metal.
5 Doors
Framed double doors or a 9'×7' overhead door, with lock options.
6 Windows
Insulated glass with screens, 18"×27" or 24"×36" depending on model.
7 Finish
Primed and painted, stained, or maintenance-free vinyl.
